This 100 amp panel upgrade is located between Okotoks and Back Diamond, just southwest of Calgary.
This homeowner is a previous client that hired us to rewire his house in Calgary a few years ago. He recently called us to upgrade the electrical panel in a house he had just moved into.
The house had a Generac backup generator feeding the electrical panel. This is to ensure the house is not without power during a power outage, which is quite common when living out of town. We refed the panel from the automatic transfer switch as the original installation required some upgrading as well.
Our service includes scheduling the disconnect/reconnect on behalf of our customers. Fortis came out in the morning as requested to disconnect the power so our technician could replace the panel safely. The homeowner also had to shut the generator down to prevent it from kicking in as the generator automatically starts when power is lost.
This panel upgrade was very similar to most 100 amp electrical panel grades with the slight variant of the generator. The homeowner was very happy with the outcome and we managed to do the full replacement within one day as promised.
We will be going back to the property at a later date to complete the owner’s basement renovation.
