Solar

Project Overview

This 17 kW solar installation in Wildwood, SW Calgary, was designed to offset more than 80% of the homeowner’s annual energy use. Installed during peak summer heat, the job involved careful planning and execution to ensure a clean, reliable finish. The customer came to us as a referral from a past solar client, continuing the chain of word of mouth recommendations we’re proud of.

Site Conditions & Challenges

Working through full summer heat made for tough days on the roof. The home run for the array was carefully fished up internal walls, ensuring a tidy finish inside the home without unnecessary drywall cutting. The completed system blended cleanly into the rooflines while maximizing solar exposure.

Electrical Upgrades

The property had already received a 100A panel upgrade during a previous renovation, so no additional panel work was required for this installation.

Financial Overview

This project benefited from several financial programs:
  • Canada Greener Homes Grant
  • Greener Homes Loan
  • CEIP (Clean Energy Improvement Program)
  • Solar Offset program eligibility
Together, these incentives helped reduce upfront costs and improve the long-term return on investment.

Customer Story

The homeowner was referred by another solar customer and saw solar as the right way to reduce power bills while taking advantage of current grants and loans. With the new system in place, they’re now covering the majority of their electricity needs directly from the sun.
